Archived from groups: macromedia>flash (more info?)

What is up with the Mac verson of Flash Pro? I can't get sound to show up in
anything I do....and I hate to admit it but the PC version works just fine.

I'm importing movies (I have tried both .avi and .mov formats) and I'm getting
a nice compression on the video, but no sound, after importing > Flash (the
stage), then exporting to .swf format. (I have also tried "Publish").

I've monkeyed around with the sound settings and nothing works. I see in
another thread someone suggests importing the sound as a separate element, then
teeing it up in the Flash file before exporting....but WHY? Why should I have
to do that? I thought the whole idea with using Flash to import movies and
compress them for websites was, it all happened at the same time, without all
this stuffing around!

Any suggestions from fellow Maccers using OSX and Flash MX Pro?
