Read thru all the topics under "mask" search, and could not find one that
matched mine, so......

I have a page banner which features the company logo in an oval.
I want to place a layer below the banner, with relevant photos, and provide a
view into the photos, using a mask in the same shape as the logo.
I've built the mask, and it works just fine, but I can't figure out how to
have the mask work thru the banner graphic.
The result I get is a white work space and the transparent mask.
Appreciate any help.

Thanks,
vince_g

Is there a link to the file so we can see what you are explaining?

I guess that I do not understand what you are trying to do.
Do you want the logo to slide back and forth with the pictures showing in the white part of the logo?

Thanks for the reply.
The logo on Layer 6 is the same size as the mask on Layer 7.
What I want to do is have the movie open with the banner on Layer 6 visible,
and as the mask moves, I want the photos on Layer 1 to show in the oval.

Now that I see what I've done, I guess I should have the logo on Layer 1 along
with the pictures,
but I still don't under stand how I would get the banner graphic to cover the
photos, and
still have the mask reveal the photos thru the oval.

Thanks,
vince_g

That is exactly what I was looking for!!!
I've looked at the .fla file, but I don't think I understand what's happening.
I see 2 mask layers, and 2 layers that contain the banner graphic (Layers 6 &
Cool. Layer 7 contains the tween with the oval window, but I don't understand how
Layers 9 & 8 make it work.
I'm not grasping the notion of the 2nd graphic layer and mask.
If you could hang in there with me just a bit longer, I usually do get it.
Could you also steer me to a book or other doc on how masks work? The online
Help, to me, is too cryptic. I went thru it for a few hours before writing the
first post.
Thanks a lot for this help.
