Hi,

I am a former Swish user who has been converted to Flash, and I am having a
problem with some simple effects.

I need to create a Flash Movie where a viewer moves their mouse over an image,
and a Larger image appears at a fixed point.

In swish I would I create this effect by initially stopping the Sprite (or
_mc) at Frame 1 then having the object PLACE at frame 3 then stop again at
Frame 5 REMOVE at Frame 7 and stop at Frame 9

Then you would use mouse rollover and rollout to call the various points. e.g.

on (rollOver) {
RolloverSprite.gotoAndPlay(5);
}
on (rollOut) {
RolloverSprite.gotoAndStop(7);
}

In Flash I CANNOT find a way to PLACE and REMOVE objects on the Timeline. I
have looked in a number of the functions and operators folders to the left of
the Actions window, but can't find anything to help me.

Can someone please give me the solution to this simple yet complicated problem

Cheers

Sean

You can place the larger images in the Over frame of the button itself. You can
also create a movie clip that contains all the larger images, and have each
button tell that movie clip to go to a certain frame.

on (rollOver) {
yourmovieclip.gotoAndStop(5);
}

As far as placing or removing, there is a function called loadMovie that will
load images in an external folder. Do a search for that here, and you will find
all kinds of posts...

Hi mhunter,

Thanks for your reply. I am OK with the rollover and rollout part that bit is
easy (ish) it is the Place and Remove I am having difficulty with.

I'll have a search for the loadMovie script and see what I can come up with.

Again thanks for your help
