Every website I go to uses the Macromedia Flash Player, and for the longest
time, it's been great. As I was cleaning up my harddrive though, I
accidentally uninstalled Flash (don't ask me how). Now, websites like ESPN.com
and MLB.com prompt me to install Flash again. When I go to the site to do so,
I can install Flash to the point where I get the "You've successfully installed
Flash" screen, but then when I return to those sites, they still don't work,
still prompting me to install Flash again. Anyone have any idea why this would
happen?? I've restarted my computer multiple times since and still can't get
it to work. Please help me.

Johnny

yeah - ditto that - restart your browser. not just close all windows - do a File > Exit.

I have had the exact same problem, tried all of the obvious things, no go. I
had to actually download the players executable and install it that way.

For future reference, to anyone with a similar problem, I fixed it after weeks
of frustration by going to "Manage Add-ons," disabling Flash, and then enabling
it again. I don't know why this worked. As I said in my original post, I had
restarted my computer several times, which included closing the browser, to no
avail. This worked. Thanks everyone...
