Flash 8 crashes and quits

Here we are in September and here is my Flash 8 quits problem. I'm running OS X
10.4 on a g4 with 2 gigs of ram.
I'm a beginner. I'm going through the tutorials. I make a circle. I watch it
as a test movie without a problem. I turn it into a button. I attempt to
preview it as a test movie and Flash quits. I attempt to publish it and Flash
quits.
I have Studio 8 on Disk. I reloaded that. No change. I downloaded the trial
version. No change. I updated the bug fix for Flash 8 concerning security
problems. No change. I updated to Flash Player 9. No change.
It happens every time. Any suggestions on what I could try next?

I've tried all this stuff... nothing. Flash 8 still quits.
I'm on a Mac running 10.4.9.
I have all my fonts.
I have repaired permissions (which I thought worked for a while).
And still, no change.

It quits for me when / after I've tested a movie.
It is INSANELY annoying... as I pretty much can't test something until I'm
ready to restart Flash.

Is there not any other news on this issue?
The fact that it's happening to so many people, and so often, seems like there
should be some fix for it... some news about it... something other than "check
your system".
