Post subject: Flash Install Error in Opera-9

When I try to install latest Flash for Opera-9, I get an error message saying
Firefox is using one of the files and must be closed. I have not opened Firefox
in weeks. In Windows Task Manager Firefox does not show as a running
application or as any of the myriad of processes running... so Firefox is not
running but the Flash install for Opera9 is faulty. How do I work around this?
