For some of us, the interest in anaglyph has never gone away.

I
wouldn't call this a "simple" feature, though, by any stretch. In any case,
it's not a feature many people would use, I think. Anaglyphs are definitely
cool, but not many people produce them.

Again, "simple" ... but this simple solution fails. You could also
experiment with semi-transparent PNGs. The trouble is, Flash needs blend
modes. With the addition of blend modes, Flash could in fact produce
anaglyphs just like Macromedia Director can.

Aha! We're on the same track.

It is *rumored* that the next
version of Flash will have blend modes. Obviously, that's no guarantee, but
at least the hope for it is not unfounded. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
